The purpose of the organization shall be to serve as an advocate for abused, neglected, and/or exploited aged and disabled adults.  An additional purpose will be to increase the effectiveness of all adult protective services and agencies.  These purposes shall be accomplished by the sharing of ideas and experience between the members of this organization, the staff of Adult Protective Services, adult service agencies, and the community.  The organization shall attempt to educate the community as to the proper case of aged and disabled adults.  Further, by remaining sensitive to the needs of the community, the Advisory Board shall make appropriate recommendations for the improvement of adult services within the region it serves.

We are a non-profit organization involved in fundraising, grant-seeking and contribution support to help vulnerable aged and disabled citizens in West Texas.  We support Bridge Rooms in Big Spring, Fort Stockton, Midland, Odessa and San Angelo.  Bridge Rooms provide food, clothes, fans/heaters, medical and adaptive equipment, household cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items that are used to 'bridge' the gap when government funding is not available for the abused, neglected and/or exploited elderly and disabled of West Texas.  We participate in community events that address senior issues through partnership with Adult Protective Services.  We promote increased public awareness of the challenges faced by the elderly and disabled in an effort to decrease the abuse, neglect and exploitation of these individuals.

Adult Protective Services investigates allegations of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation of persons over age 65 or adults with disabilities.  They arrange for services that are necessary to alleviate or prevent further maltreatment.  Our organization helps them to meet this demand by buying items to keep the Bridge Rooms stocked, and sponsoring their participation in various community events aimed at educating the public about the problems faced by their clients.   We try to help them....Protect the Unprotected!
